About us

Veteran-owned.
Owner-operated.

The people whose names are on the company are the people on your job site. That is the whole difference, and it's the thing our reviews keep coming back to.

The short answer

Who is Veteran's Custom Home Solutions?

A veteran-owned and -operated home improvement contractor based in Kearney, Missouri, serving residential and commercial property owners across the Kansas City northland for over four years. The crew carries more than fifteen years of building experience.

What separates us from a franchise remodeler is not a technique. It's that Adam, Jason and Cody own the company and are the people on your job site — which is why our customers name them personally in review after review, and why so many of those reviews are from second and third projects.

Who we are

Veteran's Custom Home Solutions is a veteran-owned and -operated home improvement contractor based in Kearney, Missouri. We've served residential and commercial property owners for over four years, and the crew carries more than fifteen years of building experience.

We build outdoor living — decks, covered decks, screened-in porches, pergolas, fences and handrails — and we finish interiors, primarily basements. We also handle exterior painting and staining.

Four years here.
Fifteen in the trade.

Most people who call us have been let down by a contractor before. Someone didn't show, or showed once and then stopped answering, or finished and left the mess behind.

What we sell against that is unglamorous: the same named crew from the first post to the last baluster, a start date you can plan around, and a site that's clean when we leave.

How we work

Four steps, and we don't skip any of them.

  1. 1

    Free estimate

We walk the space, or price it over the phone, then put the number and the scope in writing. No obligation attached.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

Layout, stair runs and tie-ins get settled, materials get chosen, and you get a start date you can plan around.

  3. 3

    We build it

Footings, framing, decking, rails and roof, built by the same crew from the first post to the last baluster.

  4. 4

    Clean up and walkthrough

The debris leaves with us. We walk the finished job with you and handle anything you spot afterward.

What veteran-owned means in practice

It's a phrase that gets used as decoration, so it's worth saying what we actually mean by it.

It means the people who own and run this company served, and that the habits that came out of that — show up when you said you would, finish what you started, clean up after yourself, answer for your own work — are the operating standard rather than a marketing angle. Read the reviews on this site and those are the things customers keep writing about, in almost those words.

The practical version is unglamorous. One crew from the first post to the last baluster, so you're never introduced to a new face halfway through. A start date you can plan around. A written scope, so what was agreed and what gets built are the same thing. The debris leaving with us the day we finish. And if you spot something afterward, someone still answering the phone.

It also shapes who we go out of our way for. Military, first responder and teacher discounts apply to every project we take on — not a seasonal promotion, and not something you have to negotiate for.

  • Adam, Cody, and the team at VCHS brought our vision to life and we couldn’t be happier with the final product. They were all in constant communication throughout the entire process and we were never in doubt that our deck would be anything other than exactly what we imagined. We highly recommend them for your next project no matter the size.

  • We had a great experience working with Jason and his team on our new deck! I had a lot of questions throughout the process, and Jason was always patient, responsive, and helpful. It really stood out how much they care about doing quality work — when we noticed a couple of small things after the deck was finished, they took care of them right away to make sure we were completely happy. We absolutely love our deck and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, professional contractor who stands behind their work.
