Veteran's Custom Home Solutions is a veteran-owned and -operated home improvement contractor based in Kearney, Missouri. We build outdoor living — decks, covered decks and pergolas, screened-in porches, fences and handrails — we handle exterior painting and roofing, and we finish interiors: basements, kitchens and bathrooms.

VCHS is a great contractor to work with! We first had them replace our rear deck and they built us a much bigger, more functional, and better deck than we had envisioned. When my mother became wheelchair bound later the same year we had VCHS back out and they built a custom front deck with wheelchair ramp and concrete sidewalk to allow her to come live with us. Just this year we brought VCHS back to replace our old chain link fence with a new 6 foot privacy fence. Overall they are a friendly and efficient team to work with who won’t let you down!

VCHS was professional and prompt. Their estimator found mistakes that were made with the original build of our deck that at least 3 other estimators from competing deck builders missed. That alone would have earned our business. Couple that with his courtesy and respectful manner, and we were convinced we wanted to go with this company. Lastly, the team that did the demo and rebuild were HARD working, courteous and prideful in their quality of workmanship. I highly recommend VCHS for your project.

Jason and the team at VCHS did an amazing job on our fence. They answered all of our questions during the process and the end result is a new look to our yard and a fence our neighbors are jealous of! We have recommended them to a few people and they are actually doing a fence for a friend of mine in the near future. You will be very happy with the final product if you go with them, too!

So unbelievably happy with the way our deck turned out! The workers were respectful and polite. We also had siding repairs done, the paint matches perfectly to the already established color. They pointed out other issues that we should address (termites 😳). We will be definitely using them again for future projects!

We work for residential and commercial property owners across the Kansas City northland, and we've done so for over four years.
Who will actually be on my job site?
The owners. Adam, Jason and Cody are named by customers in review after review because they're the ones on site — not a rotating crew of subcontractors you've never met and can't reach.
That's also why so many of our reviews are from people on their second or third project with us. You get the same crew back.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free whether we come out and walk the space or price it over the phone, and there's no obligation attached to one. You get a real number with the scope in writing.
Which towns do you serve?
We're based in Kearney and work across the northland and the greater Kansas City metro — Smithville, Liberty, Excelsior Springs, Lawson, Kansas City, Gladstone, Parkville, Riverside, Leavenworth, and east and south to Independence, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, Lake Lotawana and Lake Tapawingo.

When should I call if I want outdoor work done this year?
Earlier than most people do. Spring and early summer book up first, so if you want a deck, a porch or a fence finished in time to use it, the call is worth making before the weather turns rather than after.
We build year-round and plan around the season — but spring slots fill earlier than most people expect.
